ABOUT ME

DSC_0098.JPG

I, Aileen White, provide all services at Sidmouth Physio, Pilates & Acupuncture. I qualified with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree in 2002 and initially worked in the NHS in many different areas of Physiotherapy. I have worked in Orthopaedic Wards, Hand Therapy, Fracture Clinic and Emergency Departments as well as Hydrotherapy.

After gaining a wide range of experience, I became a Senior Physiotherapist and specialised in Musculoskeletal (joint/bone/soft tissue) Physiotherapy. The majority of my career to date involved working in a large hospital outpatient department assessing and treating referrals from GPs, Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and the Pain Clinic.

In 2018 I took up a post as a First Contact Physiotherapist working in GP surgeries triaging and treating GP Musculoskeletal patients.

Following relocation to Devon I have most recently worked in a Private Physiotherapy Practice treating Musculoskeletal patients.

Additional personal experience of the benefits of Acupuncture and Pilates led me to want to offer this as additional treatment options for my clients. In 2010, I completed training with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and I am certified to deliver this as a treatment option. More recently, I have completed training with

the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and I am now a qualified Matwork Pilates Instructor.

My career to date has given me breadth of experience and knowledge and I feel privileged to be able to offer my services privately. Working in this way allows me greater flexibility in the way I work with clients. I am able to tailor my treatments utilising all of the skills and experience I have in a way that is most effective, all with the aim of maximising clients' quality of life and fitness. I thoroughly enjoy seeing people getting better and back to their previous activities.

On a personal note .........

I enjoy spending time with my husband and 3 children out and about in the beautiful Sidmouth area - walking, cycling and down at the beach. I also love to do Pilates myself to maintain my fitness, which helps as I also have a passion for tearooms and cake!

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like any further information.
